Your hiring manager doesn't know what kind of worker you really are. So, the interviewer is asking this question to determine your sense of motivation and whether you’re a good fit for their company. Instead, think of something in the past that you think you did well and enjoyed, which can be relevant to the job that you’re applying for. Think of it as a positive opportunity to further clarify your past experience and enthusiasm about the position, so that they can see what appeals to you and how it makes you a better employee.
Remember that your hiring manager wouldn’t ask this question if he didn't want to know more about your past experience. Highlight the main strength and skill that helped you to succeed in any task which made you satisfied in your job role.
Do not let your interviewer know that money or any financial goods made you satisfied in your previous job. This automatically creates a bad impression.
Note - General Tips:
- Let them know what motivated you in the past.
- List out all your strength and skills.
- Don’t say that money makes you satisfied.
- Be confident and specific.
- Remember to answer interview question behaviorally
- Never let yourself take credit for too much.
- Find an anecdote that shows your abilities, confidence, humanity, and determination.
- It's better to talk about any awards or achievements you earned.
Answer 1: What I really liked about that job was I worked directly with the customers and their problems; I could see that it helped my customers to do their jobs better and get lucrative outcomes, and that is an important part of the job for me.
