SOS Children’s Villages Tanzania is an indigenous non government organization affiliated to SOS Children’s Villages International, a worldwide child care organization that provides orphaned and destitute children with a permanent home and educational opportunities. Established 60 years ago, SOS Children’s Villages International the umbrella organization, currently has Children’s Villages and other projects in 135 countries around the world. Globally, it runs the SOS Children’s Village Programme which has two main arms, i.e. Family Based Care based at SOS Children’s Villages and Family Strengthening Programmes supporting families in local communities. SOS has been working in the United Republic of Tanzania since 1991, and implements its programs in the following locations Zanzibar, Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, and Iringa. SOS Children’s Villages Tanzania seeks to recruit suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacancie:

Job title: Program Coordinator

Duty station:  SOS Program Iringa (1 post)

Reporting to:  National Program Director.

The Programme Coordinator leads the program in Iringa and ensure the Program Cycle Management is followed and effectively implemented. The program Coordinator ensures efficiency fund Management, s/he should guide the team on effective fund mobilization and proper utilization. She is also obligated to manage the human resource in the program. S/he should coach and mentor staff under her support to grow and perform in outstanding manner for better program improvement and development. All these obligations should rely in accordance with the organizational standards and strategies

Roles and responsibilities

Lead the planning of the programme in line with the organisation’s mission, policies, strategies and available resources programme documents.
S/he is the Program budget owner in Iringa hence provide strategic leadership in managing the programme funding.
Coordinate the implementation of the programme activities.
Build positive relationships with the community and/or local authorities.
Build a strong network of partner organisations.
Build and manage a strong programme team.
Ensures that mechanisms for ongoing monitoring and evaluation are in place and functioning well.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Bachelor degree in Community development/development studies from reputable Universities.
Experiences in programming management two (2) years must be in managerial position.
Excellent project management skills.
Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
Must have a valid driving license.
