If you are looking for a new opportunity or planning to get a new job in the future, it is important to carefully consider your interviewing techniques. The best way to avoid the most common mistakes is to think ahead more deeply and decide not to repeat them again. Unfortunately, too many job candidates lose their interview opportunities, wasting all that time and effort. Don't be one of them. You will put yourself in a problematic situation before you walk to an interviewer if you fail to prepare for the discussion in advance. So here are some of the worst and most common job interview mistakes, you need to be aware of.

 Too much overdressed, Too much makeup and jewelry as well as impractical shoes drive your interviewer to go crazy. Wearing sunglasses is another big bomb.


Arriving too early or late. Lighting up a cigarette, or smelling like a cigarette in an interview hall makes your employer feel awkward.


Complaining that you were kept waiting or complaining about the staffs in the company.


Appearing to be too nervous, or too confident


Lying about your skills/experience/knowledge blows a job offer letter from your hand.


Taking a seat before your interviewer does.


Failing to prepare for the discussion in advance. Failing to research a company or company’s website.


Complaining about a former job, employer, manager, employees or another related to your last/ current company.


 If you can’t find a way to explain how you handled a difficult situation or describe what you learned on your last/current job, you are going to lose a job for sure.


Exaggerating your role in your previous/current job.


Shaking hands too weakly, or too firmly. Nervousness is the sign of failure.


Wearing a ton of perfume or aftershave.


Using disclaimers like “Well, I’m really not an expert on this.


Cracking jokes about potentially sensitive topics and being rude.


Talking unrelated things which are not asked or expected by interviewer sitting next to you.


 Bringing reading materials, cheat sheets in Interview hall.


Failing to listen to what an interviewer is saying or Interrupting your interviewer.


Leaving your cell phone on, using Mobile phones or wearing a Bluetooth earpiece shows you are not interested in the job. Checking the time on your watch is also the biggest mistake.


Failing to demonstrate enthusiasm and interest about the company.


 Failing to take the opportunity to ask questions at the end of discussion.

 Talking about salary requirements, vacation, retirement and so on.


 Being unable to explain how your strengths and abilities apply to the job.


Sharing too much information makes your interviewer feel bore.


Asking the wrong questions at the wrong time.


No Eye contact. Failing to make eye contact (or making continuous eye contact).  Looking around.


Asking too many questions or not asking any question at all.


Being too familiar and jokey or Laughing, giggling, whistling, humming, etc is really bad habits.


Asking question before the interview or general discussion.


Not providing adequate examples to your answer or failing/skipping the question asked to you. Likewise, thinking or taking too much time to answer is another big hell.
